Generally, losses arising directly or indirectly from acts of foreign enemies, hostilities, or war-like operations (regardless of whether a state of war has been declared) or war are not covered under travel insurance policies. These include losses resulting from the cancellation or early termination of trips due to such incidents, airport closures leading to flight cancellations, and claims for trip cancellations, delays, or itinerary changes.
Regarding the recent attacks by the U.S./ Israel on Iran on February 28, 2026, please note that claims resulting from this event will not be compensated as it falls under "acts of foreign enemies, hostilities, or war-like operations."
On August 18, 2025, at 20:05, the Hong Kong Government raised the Outbound Travel Alert ("OTA") for Israel and Iran to red. Any travel insurance purchased (for single trips) or trips booked (for annual coverage) after this time will not cover losses arising from this event, as it will be considered a pre-existing event or known circumstance.
For the latest travel alert information, please refer to the Hong Kong Security Bureau's announcement regarding the OTA.
